The Book.

I am so excited! I think I haveI found a replacement for my The Book!

The Book is an appointment book I found last year in February. It contains the source of my power ... and was on sale. It was perfect. A soft red purple. Hardbound. The months were tabbed. The weekly planner had adequate space for writing. The piece de resistance was the address section. *sigh* Ample room to jot down the address, several phone numbers, and *gasp* email addresses. I managed to comfortabley insert birthdays. Oh the glory of this little purple The Book was something to behold. It even fit in my diaper bag.

Sadly, the source of my power needed to be changed at the beginning of 2008. I went in a desperate and mad search for a new The Book. Days, weeks, and a tank of gas later, a new The Book had not been found. With a heavy heart, I purchased a cheap imitation of The Book. My heart wept at the pathetic-ness of it all. I've hardly touched it.

Then, one day Gilmore Girls Season 7 became half price. I did a very happy dance in the line at the store. I have spent the past 24 hours devouring every Gilmore Girl second because, alas, this is the final season. I became quite emotional and on a type of adrenaline rush. I couldn't sleep. I read till my eyes hurt, I enjoyed the luxury of showering alone, I paid bills. Then, it hit me. I should look in The Book for its maker. I did. The Book hails from the small hamlet of Mead. I visited Mead.com (all small hamlets are getting there own webpages, after all) and low and behold I found The Book. My heart pounded with excitement. I scrolled down the page to check the price when disaster struck. The bold red letters of doom sneered at me from the screen. Sold Out. My The Book was Sold Out.

I searched through a forest of other books. Each one had fine qualities, but nothing of the outstanding radiance of my The Book. Perhaps I should purchase the larger version of The Book. It comes in different sizes, why not a larger size?

"It won't fit in the diaper bag," says the voice in my head. I nod slowly as this sorrowful statement sinks in. Out of the corner of my eye, there is a twinkle. I scrolll down the screen slightly. A book timidly addresses me. I look at it. It looks at me. By George, this is a The Book Apprentice. Not fully capable of the magnificence of the previous The Book, but still capable of great things. Why, this might work. Yes, I think this might work just fine.

I will have to pay full price and shipping, but we always invest more to teach those who reach for greatness. I am excited for the arrival of my new The Book Apprentice. I think my quest is at an end. This signifies a feast, and long periods of rest before the training begins. I think a home made sugar cookie and some cranberry juice will suit our feasting needs. As for the rest, let's just hope the Princess (for that is what Miss M is today. Tomorrow she will be Jesse. Today she is Princess) decides to sleep in tomorrow. Sweet dreams to all and may a fufilling day follow.
