Miss S has finally decided that she is tired of swinging in her chair and has just informed me, quite loudly, that she would rather fall asleep nursing. I now get to type one handed. Doing things one handed was easier the first time around. I have yet to figure out why. Perhaps I am more confident that I can do it now and have grown cocky. Maybe, it's no longer a game like it was with the first one. It could be that I'm just really rusty. I'm guessing it's because my second child is substantially heavier than the first. Whatever the reason, my princess is done eating, has retired to her crib, and is enjoying her after-dinner thumb. I love having a thumbsucker!
Miss M has been quiet for some time now. This says to me that she is either asleep or doing something naughty. A good parent would pause for a second and check on her. The question is, am I feeling like a good parent today? Well, it is raining, which is always a good sign for me. However, she did make me listen to "Nuttin' for Christmas" 5 times in the car this morning and I am comfortable. Decisions, decisions.
Ah, my mind has been made up for me. Miss M is elephanting down the stairs as we speak to tell me that... she has peed. Wonderful.
Potty training is going a bit better now that things have settled down. We're still going through a ton of diapers, but at least she's using the potty now. I admit that Miss M is not where I was hoping she'd be. She'll be 3 in March. I thought she'd be potty trained by now, and know at least her numbers and colors. I understand that she's had a really rough 2007. We moved, I was pregnant and then had a baby, and daddy left for deployment all within 6 months. She can say her numbers 1-10 (although she always forgets 4) and we've been working on identifying and writing the numbers. She knows the names of colors, but other than pink, can't identify them. I'm begining to think I'm not cut out to homeschool like my husband and I originally intended. My expectations are probably too high. She'll get there in the end.
Some people use their blogs for creative outlets. Some use it to keep in touch with family and friends. I have no idea what to do with my blog. However, I have learned that every blog needs a picture. Because I recently backed up my computer's files, I can't find anything. Therefore, I will let Hermes pick for me. It's his data banks, after all. Ahh, this is one of our family's favorites. This is Miss M, the "cheeky little minx." Her daddy took this picture. Normally, Miss M hates getting her picture taken and isn't shy about letting all around her know it. However, daddy gave her a "pockle" (popscicle) and her temperment became sweeter.
